Even future lawyers may need to obtain a prenuptial agreement. Prenuptial agreements have grown in popularity the more they have been mentioned in Netflix’s “Love is Blind.”  Season 7 featured two mentions of this legal contract and gives you two great reasons why you may consider obtaining one for yourself, particularly in a community property state like Wisconsin.

First, the well-off art dealer Leo Braudy proposed the signing of a prenuptial agreement to Brittany Wisniewski, to protect his family business and personal assets. A prenup would have allowed Leo to outline which assets are considered separate property and which assets are considered joint property, to which Brittany would have the discretion to sign or not. Had the couple made it to the altar, a prenup would have provided them with a clearer understanding of financial responsibilities and expectations.

Law clerk Marissa George may have a law degree herself, but it was her mother who adamantly suggested that she obtain a prenup with Ramses Prashad. Marissa’s mom—like Leo—was deeply concerned with Ramses’s motivations to marry Marissa for her money. With a presumably large disparity in income between Marissa and Ramses, a prenup would have been similarly useful to them as it would have been for the other season 7 couple. Although Ramses was willing to sign the prenup, they too, did not make it to the altar.
